Babar Azam has been dropped from Pakistan team. He will not be a part of the team in the second test against England. The new selection committee of PCB took the decision to drop Babar Azam from the team in view of his poor performance. The Pakistani team is divided into two parts on the PCB's decision to drop Babar. Many players of Pakistan including Test team coach Jason Gillespie are unhappy with the decision. The cricketers sitting outside the Pakistan team have also attacked the PCB over the decision to drop Babar Azam. Although many Pakistani cricketers may not be happy with the PCB, Australian cricketer Brad Hogg feels that whatever the PCB did, it was good.

Brad Hogg happy with the removal of Babar Azam

If Brad Hogg is to be believed, it seems that he is happy with PCB. It is good that Babar Azam was removed from the team. Brad Hogg also gave the reasoning behind saying this, which is a befitting reply to the people who are defending Babar by comparing him to Virat.

Brad Hogg told on X handle that even when Virat Kohli was in bad form, Team India was winning the matches. Even then, they remained the second best team with the highest winning percentage. When Babar Azam is going through a bad phase, Pakistan team is the second team with the worst win percentage. Obviously when the winning percentage is bad, tough decisions have to be taken. PCB has also done the same by dropping Babar Azam.

Many Pakistani cricketers including Fakhar Zaman unhappy with the decision

Babar Azam has scored 352 runs in 17 innings with an average of 20.71 since 2023. Because of his poor performance the PCB decided to drop him. But, the attitude of many Pakistani players on this decision is angry.
Fakhar Zaman said that when Virat was going through a bad phase. Even though his average was 19.33, Team India did not put him on the bench. Excluding their best batsman has had a bad effect on the morale of the team.

After Babar Azam was dropped from the team, this will be the second time since his debut in 2016 and the first time since June 2018. When Pak team will be seen playing any test without him.
