Delhi: The 15-member Indian team has been announced for the three-match Test series against New Zealand starting from October 16. Along with this, four traveling reserves have also been included. The special thing is that star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain, whereas in the last Test series against Bangladesh, the vice-captain was not selected. It is believed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering Bumrah as the future captain of the Test team after Rohit Sharma.
The team's main fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not fully fit yet, hence he has not got a place in the team. Shami has been out of the field since ankle surgery earlier this year. Yash Dayal, who was included in the Bangladesh series, is also out due to injury.
The first Test will be played in Bengaluru from 16 October. New Zealand team will play three test matches on India tour.
