Like every day, a new drama has emerged from Pakistan cricket. This time Pakistani cricket team is in the headlines because of star batsman Babar Azam. Pakistan's squad has been announced for the second and third matches of the Test series against England, in which Babar Azam has not got a place. Fans are angry at the Pakistan Cricket Board for the removal of Babar Azam, who is continuously going through poor form. Now the team's star opener Fakhar Zaman has also raised questions on this decision, but in this matter Fakhar has compared Babar to Team India. With former captain and superstar batsman Virat Kohli, due to which he is now constantly being reprimanded on social media.
Dropping Babar, who has emerged as Pakistan's biggest batsman in the last few years, in this manner obviously did not go down well with his fans and some teammates. Fans vented their anger on social media but ODI team opener Fakhar Zaman is the only player who came out openly and raised questions on Babar's removal. But in order to support Babar, Fakhar also took Virat Kohli to task and wrote that despite his poor form, BCCI had not dropped him.
Fakhar wrote in a post on 'X' that the news of dropping Babar Azam is worrying. He again mentioned Kohli and wrote that between 2020 and 2023, when Virat was going through a bad phase and he was scoring runs at an average of 19.33, 28.21 and 26.50, even then BCCI did not drop him. Describing Babar as the best batsman in the history of Pakistan cricket, Fakhar wrote that the decision to drop him could send a wrong message to the team. He wrote that instead of harming the players, emphasis should be laid on saving them.
Its concerning to hear suggestions about dropping Babar Azam. India didn't bench Virat Kohli during his rough stretch between 2020 and 2023, when he averaged 19.33, 28.21, and 26.50, respectively. If we are considering sidelining our premier batsman, arguably the best Pakistan

This one post of Fakhar Zaman created an uproar on 'X' and Indian fans scolded the Pakistani batsman fiercely. Many Indian users also cited the repeated comparison of Virat Kohli with Babar Azam as the reason for the bad phase of the Pakistani team and Babar and wrote that despite this, Pakistani players and fans are not ready to improve.
What's the obsession? Kohli had one of the greatest shouts by 2019 whereas Babar isn't even in the top 10 Test batters of this generation. Kohli had 7k Test runs avging 53-55, iconic knocks by 2019 & was taking the Indian Test team to better heights. Have some shame man. https://t.co/7ZzckRuE4W

Pakistan's desperation to link Babar with Kohli in any context any opportunity they get is the reason for PCT and Babar's downfall. https://t.co/qLHDRkjSwc

Pakistan had to face a crushing defeat against England in the first test match played in Multan. Many players including Babar Azam were failing in this test, but being the biggest batsman of the team, everyone kept a close eye on Babar. Babar has been continuously failing for the last two years and has not been able to score even 50 runs even once in 18 Test innings. In such a situation, many former cricketers and some fans were continuously demanding the ouster of Babar and now the selection committee has also taken this decision. Babar was dropped not just from one match but from the entire series.
