Finally, Pakistan Cricket Board has taken very strict action after the continuous defeat of the team. Proving all the speculations correct, PCB has dropped Pakistan team's star batsman Babar Azam from the Test series against England. After Babar's continuous failure, the selection committee of PCB showed Babar Azam out of the squad for the remaining two test matches of the series. The blame for poor performance not only fell on Babar, but the team's superstar fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has also been dropped from the squad. Overall, 4 players have been left out, while some new faces have got a chance, who will be seen debuting in the next test.

Babar got punishment for failure of 18 innings

In the first Test match played against England in Multan, Pakistan had to face defeat by an innings and 47 runs. In this match, Pakistani team lost even after scoring 556 runs in the first innings. Babar Azam failed in both the innings. He scored 30 runs in the first innings and only 5 runs in the second. In this way, he could not even touch the figure of 50 for the 18th consecutive innings in Test cricket. His last big innings came in December 2022, when he scored a century. Due to continuous poor performance, the demand for his ouster had intensified and finally the new selection committee of PCB took this tough decision.

These 3 including Shaheen are also out

While Babar Azam had been the identity of the Pakistani team for the last 4-5 years, along with him, young fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi had also achieved considerable stardom. Babar in batting and Shaheen in fast bowling were the identity of the Pakistani team and were the first names in the playing eleven of every format. But like Babar, Shaheen's performance has also been continuously deteriorating in the last one and a half years. Shaheen also flopped badly in the Multan Test and could take only 1 wicket for 120 runs in 26 overs. In the last one year, he has been able to take only 17 wickets in 11 Test innings.

Especially the decreasing speed of Shaheen's balls in the Test has worried the team, board and fans more and hence he has also been dropped from the series. Young fast bowler Naseem Shah has also been dropped from the series. . In the last match, Naseem could score 157 runs in 31 overs and take only 2 wickets. His fitness is constantly under question and hence he has also been removed from the series. Earlier, Naseem and Shaheen were also dropped from the second match of the Test series against Bangladesh. Apart from these, spinner Abrar Ahmed, who fell ill in the first test, also could not get a place. He is not completely fit yet.
