Parash Mhambrey would not be reuniting with Rahul Dravid at the Rajasthan Royals and will join Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025, Cricbuzz has reported.
Mhambrey, who played two Tests and three ODIs for India, was the bowling coach under the Rahul Dravid-led Indian cricket team coaching set up. Their tenures ended after India's win in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies in June. As expected, Rahul Dravid returned to taking the coaching job at Rajasthan Royals. Days after his appointment as the Rajasthan Royals head coach, Vikram Rathour was roped in as the batting coach. Rathour worked in the same capacity under Dravid in the Indian cricket team. Among other prominent staff who worked under Dravid, T Dilip's contract was renewed by the BCCI, and he is now working under the new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Paras Mhambrey was also expected to join Rajasthan Royals under Dravid, but he has instead moved to Mumbai Indians, a team he has worked for in the past before getting associated with the BCCI. Mumbai Indians also have Sri Lanka legend Lasith Malinga as their bowling coach, and now the onus will be on Mahela Jayawardene to delegate and distribute the works. Jayewardene is the Global Head of Performance at the Mumbai Indians. The former Sri Lanka captain is the head of all coaches associated with the Mumbai Indians teams globally - MI Emirates, MI Cape Town and MI New York. October 31 is the deadline for all the teams to submit their list of retained players. The IPL 2025 mega auction will reportedly be held in Singapore or a city in Saudi Arabia in November.
