India's new domestic season has started with Ranji Trophy. 38 teams of the elite group are participating in the first round. There are some players in this who are playing to make their way back into Team India. The names of wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan, Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara are included in this. Ranji Trophy is a big opportunity for these three. However, their start has not been good. After the first day's play is over, the second day's play continues. During this time, they got a chance to bat but they all flopped in their very first innings. None of these players could play big innings. In such a situation, questions have been raised on the comeback of Ishaan, Shaw and Pujara right from the first innings.

The bat did not work in the first innings of Ranji

Ishan Kishan has been out of Team India for almost 11 months. Following the advice of BCCI, he has started participating in domestic tournaments. But till now he has not been able to do anything special with the bat. He has failed to perform consistently. Kishan did not play any major innings in 3 out of 4 innings of Duleep Trophy. During this period only one century was scored. Even in the Irani Cup, he could score only 38 runs. Kishan, who is now captaining Jharkhand, was out after scoring only 21 runs in the first innings against Assam.

On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw has been out of Team India for almost 3 years. Shaw, who made his Test debut 6 years ago, has been able to play only 5 Test matches so far. Like Ishaan, he was also thrown out for breaking discipline. However, now he is making every possible effort to make a comeback in Team India. He recently participated in England's county cricket but could not perform consistently. However, he raised a small hope by playing an inning of 76 runs in the Irani Cup. But his bat again remained silent in the first innings of Ranji Trophy. While opening for Mumbai against Baroda, he was out after scoring just 7 runs. Hardik Pandya's brother Krunal Pandya took his wicket.

The hero of Australia tour was also a flop

Cheteshwar Pujara has also been out of Team India for almost a year and is struggling to make a place. But he also flopped in the first innings of Ranji Trophy. While playing for Saurashtra, Pujara could score only 16 runs. He was bowled by Tamil Nadu spinner Sai Kishore. Let us tell you that he played an important role in the victory of Team India on the 2020-21 Australia tour. Pujara was among the top-4 batsmen in terms of scoring runs. He scored a total of 271 runs during the Border-Gavaskar series. But the bigger thing was that for this he faced 928 balls, which was a big factor in Team India's victory. He has not been able to play any Test match since the final of the World Test Championship in 2023.
