Team India Announced: Jasprit Bumrah got big responsibility, Shami did not return, Team India announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced Team India for the Test series starting next week. The 3-Test series between India and New Zealand is starting from October 16, for which the board announced a 15-member squad on Friday, October 11. The selection committee has retained only the squad that won against Bangladesh. This means that star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is still not fully fit and it will take more time for his return. Taking a big decision, the selectors have appointed Jasprit Bumrah as the vice-captain of the team.

BCCI announced the squad late on Friday night, about 4 days before the start of the series. However, after the results of the last series and the performance of the players, it seemed clear that this time there would be hardly any change in the squad. The selection committee also maintained the same thinking and selected the same players while maintaining stability in the team. However, left arm fast bowler Yash Dayal, who was part of the team for the last series, has not been selected for this series. He has been dropped without making his debut while no other bowler has been included in his place.
