Team announced for test series, only captain left out of first match

South Africa team has to tour Bangladesh for a 2-match test series. This series will start from 21st October. Cricket South Africa has announced its squad for this series. But captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of the first Test against Bangladesh to be played at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. He will not be able to be a part of this match due to injury. In such a situation, the name of the new captain has been announced for the first match of the series.

This player will take command of the team in place of Temba Bavuma

Temba Bavuma will go to Dhaka with the team, but will not take part in the first match. He is suffering from a muscle strain in his left triceps. He will continue his recovery under the supervision of the medical team in preparation for the second test and will be part of the match once he recovers. In such a situation, Aiden Markram will take charge of the team in the opening match of the series. Apart from this, Dewald Brevis has been included in the team in place of Temba Bavuma. Young batsman Dewald Brevis has been selected in the Test team for the first time.

Got injured in Ireland series

Temba Bavuma was injured during the ODI series played against Ireland earlier this month. He got injured in the second match of the series and was not able to field in that match. After this, he had to be out of the last match of the series also. "Bavuma will travel with the team to Dhaka on Tuesday and continue his recovery under the care of the Proteas medical team in preparation for the second Test, which begins in Chittagong on October 29," a CSA statement said.

On the other hand, Lungi Ngidi has been included in the team in place of Nandre Berger. Nandre Berger is also struggling with injury. The South African team will participate in a red ball camp at the Center of Excellence in Pretoria from 12 to 14 October before leaving for Bangladesh for this series.
