In such a situation, the Indian team needs an additional opener for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In place of Rohit, young opener Abhimanyu Ishwar can be seen opening for Team India. Abhimanyu Easwaran has scored three consecutive centuries in this domestic season and has emerged as a strong contender for this role.

After scoring centuries in the second and third matches of the 2024 Duleep Trophy, Abhimanyu Easwaran also scored a century in 117 balls against Mumbai in the Irani Cup 2024 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. He not only scored two centuries in the Duleep Trophy, but before this he had also scored a double century in the last match of Ranji Trophy in February 2024. Talking about Easwaran's statistics in first-class cricket, so far he has scored 7315 runs in 166 innings of 97 matches at an average of 48.44, which includes 25 centuries and 29 half-centuries. His highest score is 233 runs.
