Delhi: England's 25-year-old star batsman Harry Brook performed brilliantly in the Multan Test against Pakistan and scored a triple century and broke the record of 309 runs of former Indian team opener Virender Sehwag in 2004. England had lost three wickets for 249 runs when Brook came to bat. He along with former captain Joe Root made a partnership of 454 runs for the fourth wicket, which put England in a strong position. Harry completed the first triple century of his Test career in 310 balls.

The right-handed batsman became the sixth player for England to score a triple century in Test cricket and the first English batsman to achieve this feat since 1990. Also, he became the second youngest England player after Len Houghton to score a triple century. Brook also registered his name by scoring this century by scoring the second fastest triple century in Test history, where Virender Sehwag is the first player to score 300 runs in 278 balls in 2008.

Multan's biggest test score

Harry Brook has become the third batsman to score a triple century in Pakistan. Before him, this feat was done by Mark Taylor of Australia and Virender Sehwag of India. Along with this, Brook has also become the batsman who played the biggest innings in Multan. Earlier this record was in the name of Virender Sehwag, who had played an inning of 309 runs in Multan in 2004. Whereas, Mark Taylor had played an inning of 334* runs in Peshawar, Pakistan.
