Delhi: In the Multan Test, England's batsmen troubled Pakistan's bowlers a lot. After Joe Root's double century on the fourth day, the team's ace batsman Harry Brook also scored the first double century of his career. Brook had never scored a double century before either in domestic cricket or at the international level. His brilliant innings has put Pakistan under more pressure.

England did this feat after 39 years

In the Multan Test, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first, where the team scored 556 runs with the help of centuries from Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafiq and Agha Salman. However, England's batsmen gave a brilliant reply to this big score. Jack Crawley and Ben Duckett scored half-centuries, while Joe Root and Harry Brook scored double centuries to put pressure on Pakistan's bowlers.

This is the first time after 39 years that England's batsmen have scored two double centuries in the same innings. Till lunch break, Root was at the crease after scoring 259* runs and Brook had scored 218* runs. Earlier in 1985, Mike Gatting and Graeme Fowler had scored double centuries in the same innings against India.

On the fourth day, Root added 24 more runs and completed the sixth double century of his career, equaling Sachin Tendulkar's record of 6 double centuries.
