Latest News :- India will face New Zealand today in its first match of the ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup. The 9th ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup series is going on in the United Arab Emirates. The Indian team, placed in 'A' category, will face New Zealand in its first league match today. The match will be played in Dubai at 7.30 pm. The Indian team is being led by Harmanpreet Kaur. In the history of T20 World Cup, the Indian team has reached the final only once.

In the last 2020 series, the Indian team lost to Australia in the final and lost the chance to win the title. Meanwhile, the New Zealand team played in the finals in the 2009 and 2010 series. The New Zealand team missed the chance to win the cup by losing to Australia for the first time and England for the second time. Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shabali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma are performing brilliantly in the batting of the Indian team. Shabali Verma and Smriti Mandhana had performed well with the bat in the Asia Cup series held last July. Mandhana has scored 3 half-centuries in her last 5 T20 matches.

Talking about bowling, Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy are fast bowlers in the team and Deepti Sharma, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Shobhana and Radha Yadav are spinners. UAE pitches are expected to be spin friendly, hence a good performance is expected from the Indian team. The New Zealand team has a mix of experienced and young players. Captain Sophie Devine, all-rounder Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, fast bowler Leigh Tahuhu and Leigh Kasperek are among the strong additions. Before this, the South Africa vs West Indies match will take place at 3.30 pm.
