The batsmen continue to dominate the Multan Test match being played between Pakistan and England. After the flurry of centuries scored by host Pakistan on the first and second day of the match, England has also responded in the same manner. On the third day of the match, after England's star batsman Joe Root scored a century, the team's ace batsman Harry Brook also completed his century. Brook also equaled a special record by scoring his fourth consecutive Test century against Pakistan. The special thing is that his century came at a time when the Pakistani team was already troubled by Joe Root and then Brook also escaped from being out once, when the ball hit his stumps.

Fourth consecutive century in Pakistan

In the third session of the third day of the match, England's young batsman Brook completed the sixth century of his Test career. Right-handed batsman Brook came to the crease after the fall of the third wicket. He completed his half-century in just 49 balls. Then in the third session he also completed his century in 118 balls. The special thing is that this is his fourth consecutive Test century against Pakistan. Earlier, during the 2022 Pakistan tour, he had scored centuries in all three Tests. Out of that, the second century came in Multan and now once again he scored a century on this ground.

With this century, 25 year old Brook did something which only two batsmen before him could do, but Brook did it in less innings. All four of these centuries of Brook have come in Pakistan and in this way, he has equaled former Indian great Mohinder Amarnath and former Sri Lankan star Aravinda de Silva among the foreign batsmen who have scored the most number of centuries in Pakistan. Although Amarnath did this in 18 innings and De Silva did this in 17 innings, but Brook scored these 4 centuries in only 6 innings. Not only is this his fourth century in 4 consecutive Tests in Pakistan, but he has also converted his third consecutive innings into a century. Earlier, 108 runs were scored in Multan and 111 runs were scored in Karachi.

Brook saved from getting out

The interesting thing is that Harry Brook narrowly escaped being out before reaching his century. Brook defended a ball from Aamir Jamal but after falling there, the ball hit the grill of his helmet. Brook tried to save himself but was hit by the ball. Before Brook could stop it, the ball rolled and hit the stumps. But then he heaved a sigh of relief because despite being hit by the ball, the bails placed on the stump did not fall and thus he was saved from getting out. At that time Brook was on 75 runs.
