Joe Root has scored a century in the first test match against Pakistan in Multan. On the third day of the game, he batted brilliantly and scored a century in 167 balls. This is the 35th century of his career and with this he has broken the record of centuries of the great West Indies batsman Brian Lara. With this century, he left behind 4 greats including Lara. Apart from Lara, Joe Root has also gone ahead of Sunil Gavaskar, Younis Khan and Mahle Jayawardene in terms of scoring centuries. All these greats had scored 34 centuries during their Test career.
