Delhi: Former South African fast bowler Allan Donald recently made a big statement about West Indies' young paceman Shamar Joseph. He has described the 25-year-old as the most exciting young player in T20 cricket. Donald expressed his happiness over Joseph's inclusion in the Durban Super Giants (DSG) squad in the third edition of the SA20.

57-year-old Donald said, “I consider Shamar a great bowler. He is a very exciting young player. I had seen him a few years ago, when he bowled brilliantly against Australia and led his team to victory. It will be a lot of fun to work with him.”

Let us tell you that Shamar Joseph has played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, he played only one match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), in which he proved expensive. Apart from this, the right-arm bowler took 9 wickets at an economy rate of 9.31 in 8 matches for Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024.

Joseph's greatest performance was seen in the Test match played against Australia at Gabba, where he bowled a brilliant spell (7/68) to lead West Indies to victory and became the player of the match. So far he has taken 22 wickets in 6 Test matches and 8 wickets in 5 T20 Internationals. Whereas, Allen Donald has taken 330 wickets in 72 Test matches and 272 wickets in 164 ODIs in his career.
