Delhi: The Indian cricket team is all set to make its comeback in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament, which will be held from 1 to 3 November 2024. This tournament started in 1992 and was last organized in 2017, which is now being started again.

Cricket Hong Kong wrote on its 'X' account on Monday, “Team India is ready to rock the Hong Kong Sixes. Be prepared for explosive power-hitting and a volley of sixes that will thrill the audience! Expect more teams, more sixes, and maximum thrill!”

The 20th edition of this tournament will be played between 12 teams at Tin Kwang Road Recreation Ground. Other participating teams include Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (UAW).

In this competition, many legendary players like Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Anil Kumble have represented their respective teams. India won the tournament in 2005, while England and South Africa have achieved the status of the most successful teams with five titles each.

What are the rules of this tournament?

The format of this competition is unique, in which matches are played between two teams of 6 players each. There is a maximum of five overs for each team in each match, while in the final the team has to bowl eight balls in five overs. Each member of the fielding team has to bowl one over, and the batsmen have to retire on 31 runs, but they can return to bat again after all the batsmen have been out or retired.
