India will face Bangladesh at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in the second T20I match on Wednesday (October 9). Currently, India is leading the series as they beat the visitors in the first match in Gwalior comprehensively.
In the opening match, India managed to dismiss the Tigers for just 127 runs. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy both claimed three wickets each, while Hardik Pandya, Mayank Yadav, and Washington Sundar each secured one wicket. Arshdeep was named the Man of the Match for his exceptional performance, taking three wickets for just 14 runs in 3.5 overs as a left-arm pacer. Looking ahead to the upcoming second match against Bangladesh, it's exciting to think about the potential for Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh to secure a podium spot in terms of taking the most number of wickets for India in T20I. Pandya has 87 wickets in 103 matches, while Singh has collected 86 wickets in just 55 T20I matches. Currently, they are the fourth and fifth-highest wicket-takers for India in T20I, but with the upcoming match, there's a chance for them to make significant progress in this regard. Top Three Highest Wicket Takers for India in T20I At present Yuzvendra Chahal tops the elite list of top wicket-takers for India with 96 wickets, followed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar with 90 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah is in third place with 89 wickets. 1. Yuzvendra Chahal: 96 Wickets in 80 Matches 2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 90 Wickets in 87 Matches 3. Jasprit Bumrah: 89 Wickets in 70 Matches As all three toppers of this coveted list are not participating in this bilateral series, it will be a golden opportunity for Pandya and Singh to overcome Jasprit Bumrah if they get three or four wickets, respectively. Not only Bumrah but the duo can overtake Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well. Overtaking Bumrah will put either of the bowler in the podium for the highest wicket-taker for India in T20I format. India and Bangladesh will meet again at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12) in the third match of the series and that will be the second chance for the pacer duo to achieve this milestone if they fail to do it in Delhi.
