Sudden big change between Bangladesh T20 series, board announced new head coach

Bangladesh: Bangladesh T20 series has started. Team India has won by 7 wickets in the first T20 match against Bangladesh. Team India has to play its next match against Bangladesh on 9 October at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Meanwhile, taking a big decision, the board has given tenure to the team's former veteran opening batsman as the new head coach till the T20 World Cup to be held in the year 2026.

Sri Lankan board gave the responsibility of head coach to Sanath Jayasuriya

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board had selected former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya as the interim head coach of the team after the T20 World Cup 2024. The Sri Lankan team won the ODI series against the Indian team under the coaching of Sanath Jayasuriya. After that, he went to England and won a test match and recently gave a crushing defeat to the New Zealand team by 2-0 in the test. Due to which now the board has appointed Sanath Jayasuriya as the new head coach of the team.

Announcement made by the board on social media

Sri Lanka Cricket Board updated a post on its social media for cricket supporters and wrote that

" Sri Lanka Cricket announces the appointment of Sanath Jayasuriya as the head coach of the team. Under the management of Sanath Jayasuriya, Sri Lankan cricket has performed well in recent tours against India, England and New Zealand. After which we now appoint Sanath Jayasuriya as the head coach of Sri Lanka till 31 March 2026.”

Jayasuriya would like Sri Lanka to win T20 World Cup after 12 years

Sri Lankan cricket team won its first T20 World Cup title in the year 2014. The performance of the Sri Lankan team in any edition of the World Cup since then had not been anything special, but now it is believed that Sanath Jayasuriya, under his coaching, will take the Sri Lankan cricket team to the T20 World Cup 2026. 2026) would like to win the title. If this happens then Sri Lankan team will become T20 World Champion after 12 years.
