Team India defeated Bangladesh in a one-sided fashion by 7 wickets in the first T20 at Gwalior ground. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 127 runs in 19.5 overs, in reply Team India achieved this target in just 71 balls. After this defeat by Team India, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto became so angry that he made statements against the batsmen of his own team. Shanto said after the defeat that his team's batsmen do not know how to score 180 runs. Shanto said that in Bangladesh they get pitches that score 140 to 150 runs and hence their batsmen struggle to score 180 runs on absolutely flat pitches.

Shanto raised questions on Bangladesh's system and batsmen

Nazmul Hasan Shanto said, 'I will not say that we played poorly. We are a better team than this. We have not played well in the T20 format for a long time, but I believe that we are not that bad a team. I will not name any particular player but our batting unit did not do well. There should be aggression in our thinking while batting but we have to select good balls to play the shots. We have the ability but we have to work on our skills. We have to make some changes. Our batsmen don't know how to score 180 runs because we don't get such pitches at home. I don't consider the pitch responsible but we have to work on skills and thinking.

What mistake did Bangladesh batsmen make?

None of the Bangladesh batsmen could play their role. Liton Das was out in the very first over after playing a very bad shot. He could score only 4 runs in 2 balls. Eamon also scored 8 runs. After this Hardoy and Mahmudullah also could not play big innings. Mehdi Hasan Miraj scored 35 runs and captain Shanto scored 27 runs and somehow took his team to the score of 127. However, this score was not a challenge for Team India. Sanju Samson scored 29 runs, Suryakumar Yadav scored 29 runs, Pandya scored 39 unbeaten runs and Team India easily won the match. Team India has won the first match of the T20 series. Now the second match will be played on 9th October. It remains to be seen whether Bangladesh team will be able to make a comeback or not.
