Mayank Yadav is in the news right now and should be so. The way he has recovered from injury and made his debut for Team India is commendable in itself. Mayank Yadav made his debut in the first T20 played against Bangladesh at Gwalior ground. The speed that was expected from Mayank was clearly visible on his international debut. Bangladeshi batsmen were seen being forced to pause their bat in front of his power i.e. speed. Mayank got only 1 wicket but he left a good impression with his bowling. He also did wonders like Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. And, he gave the credit of all these achievements to the advice he received from Gautam Gambhir.

Mayank Yadav had received this advice from Gambhir

Mayank Yadav revealed the advice he received from Gautam Gambhir on Jio Cinema. There he told what Gautam Gambhir had told him before going to debut. According to Mayank Yadav, Gautam Gambhir had not asked him to do anything special. Told him to move forward with whatever strength he has. Mayank said that Gambhir did not advise him to think too much or do anything different. Just asked to follow the process and remain positive.

Did Ajit Agarkar's work in the debut match

Now let us know what Mayank Yadav did on his international debut after getting this advice from Gautam Gambhir. He bowled a maiden in the very first over and joined the club of Indian bowlers who have done so in T20I, in which only current Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and his debut bowler Arshdeep Singh are named before him. Ajit Agarkar bowled his first maiden over in the T20I against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006. Whereas Arshdeep, while making his debut against England in the year 2022, bowled the first over maiden in Southampton. Mayank has now done the same thing on his T20I debut in Gwalior.

Mayank's bowling against Bangladesh

If we look at the report card of Mayank Yadav's bowling in the debut match against Bangladesh, apart from bowling fast balls and doing the work of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, he also took 1 wicket for 21 runs at an economy of 5.25 in 4 overs.
