Shaheen Afridi returns as Pakistan announce playing XI for 1st Test vs England

Pakistan announced a pace-heavy squad for the 1st Test match against England. The team's ace pacer, Shaheen Afridi, returned to the attack for the all-important Test series against England.
Alongside Shaheen Afridi, Aamer Jamal has also returned after being left out of the last series due to injury. The first two Tests will be played in Multan and the third match will be hosted in Rawalpindi. Pakistan were humbled at their home by Bangladesh, who won the series 2-0 against the hosts. Meanwhile, England are coming off a successful summer and will aim to dominate Pakistan at home. Shan Masood will continue to lead the side as Pakistan have decided to go with three seamers and Abrar Ahmed as the only specialist spinner in the lineup. Salman Ali Agha could also be used as a part-time off-spinner as and when needed. Star left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was dropped from Pakistan's playing XI for the 2nd Test against Bangladesh in August-September.
