New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Axar Patel recently recalled his teammate Mohammed Siraj's hilarious interview with Dinesh Karthik following India's memorable triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year.
Axar revealed Siraj was uncomfortable with Karthik interviewing him in English and hilariously ran away midway through it. Axar made an appearance on the latest episode of the Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix alongside other members of India's T20 World Cup 2024-winning squad, including skipper Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube among others. During the show, the all-rounder narrated a hilarious episode involving Siraj. Axar revealed how both he and Siraj are not too comfortable interacting in English but were interviewed in English by Karthik after India's victory against South Africa in the final. Axar hilariously revealed after the end of the interview, even he had no idea what exactly he had told Karthik. The all-rounder said Siraj faced similar issues and decided to run away in the middle of his interview, saying he had already used all the English he knew. 'Siraj tha wo apni baatein kar raha tha ki DK (Dinesh Karthik) bhai ne mera English mai interview le liya. Itne saarey log hai sabko English aati hai, hum dono ko hi kyun pakda (Siraj was telling me how DK interviewed him in English and we thought why did he choose us out of all),' Axar said on the Kapil Sharma show. When asked by the host if he did the interview in English, Axar responded - 'Ha diya na, mujhe hi nahi pata tha maine kya bola (Yes, I did but even I didn't know what I said).' 'Siraj toh aadha interview chord ke baagh gaya. Keh raha meri jitni English thi khatam ho gayi (Siraj ran midway through the interview saying I have used whatever English I knew),' Axar added, leaving his Indian teammates and host Kapil in splits.
