IND vs BAN: Shivam Dube ruled out of T20I series, BCCI names replacement

IND vs BAN: All-rounder Shivam Dube has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, the BCCI revealed on Saturday, October 5, a day before the series-opener in Gwalior.
  In a release in the evening, the BCCI said Shivam Dube would not be part of the series due to a back injury. Tilak Varma has been named as the replacement for Dube. "All-rounder Shivam Dube is ruled out of the three-match T20I series owing to a back injury. The Senior Selection Committee has named Tilak Varma as Shivam's replacement. Tilak will link up with the squad in Gwalior on Sunday morning," the BCCI release said. Shivam Dube, who was part of India's T20I World Cup 2024 winning team, also featured in the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka in July-August. He also travelled to Zimbabwe to play under the Shubman Gill-led team right after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup. His last outing came in the Duleep Trophy 2024 in which he represented India A. He featured in the first-round match and scored 34 runs across the two innings. He also bowled 12 overs without taking any wicket in the first innings. Tilak Varma was also part of the India A squad. He scored an unbeaten second-innings hundred in the second-round match of the team. The 21-year-old Hyderabad player last represented India in January this year.
