Cricketer-turned-commentator Manoj Tiwary has lambasted Glenn Maxwell for his poor show in IPL 2024. Manoj Tiwary also taunted Glenn Maxwell over his high salary in IPL 2024 amid batting blows for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Australian all-rounder has completely failed to make a mark across 4 games in IPL 2024. Maxwell has hit just 31 runs across 4 games for RCB in the ongoing season. His scores across 4 matches read 0, 3, 28, and 0. Notably, Maxwell was picked for 14.25 crore in the IPL 2021 auction by RCB and has the same salary in IPL 2024. While he showed a marvelous show in India during ICC ODI World Cup in November last year, his form has hit the lowest in IPL 2024.

Glenn Maxwell has become Aaya Ram-Gaya Ram in IPL 2024: Manoj Tiwary

While speaking to Cricbuzz, former KKR player Manoj Tiwary taunted Glenn Maxwell over his hefty salary in IPL 2024 against his poor batting scores. Tiwary said Glenn Maxwell has become Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram in IPL 2024. The phrase is used for someone who doesn’t do anything. “RCB retained Glenn Maxwell. He is receiving his salary from time to time, but the performances aren’t coming at that speed. Glenn Maxwell has become Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram in the IPL”, the 38-year-old said.

Tiwary recalls Maxwell’s consistency during stint with Punjab Kings

Tiwary also slammed Glenn Maxwell for his inconsistencies in IPL. He highlighted how the Aussie batter struggled to deliver consistent form when he was part of Punjab Kings. “He has all the abilities, but where are the performances? If you look at his track record, even when he was with Punjab, everyone expected him to deliver match-winning performances, which didn’t happen. There needs to be consistency”, said Tiwary, who was also part of Punjab Kings in the 2018 season. Manoj Tiwary also noted how Cameron Green has completely failed with the bat after joining RCB in IPL 2024. Green became a part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with a trade deal with Mumbai Indians. RCB captured the Aussie all-rounder for Rs. 17.5 crore. “Cameron Green is an upcoming player and has done well for Australia. However, he hasn’t scored consistently for Bengaluru. Also, they sent Rajat Patidar at No. 3, despite Green doing well at that position in the last match,” Tiwary concluded.

Cameron Green has hit 63 runs in 4 games

Cameron Green has hit 63 runs across 4 games in IPL 2024 with a top knock of 33. He got for 18 and 3 in the first two games vs CSK and Punjab Kings. He scored 33 vs KKR before getting out for 9 in the previous game against LSG. Meanwhile, RCB has moved to the 9th spot in IPL 2024 with the defeat against LSG in their last match. The Faf du Plessis & Co. has lost 3 games out of 4 and owns 2 points. They will now clash with Rajasthan Royals in the next match of IPL 2024. The RR vs RCB clash takes place on Saturday, April 6.
