Gautam Gambhir is like my brother: Kamran Akmal opens up on bond with India star

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal opened up on his relationship with former India cricketer and current head coach Gautam Gambhir calling him his brother.
Notably, Gambhir and Akmal were involved in several heated battles in their careers as their emotions got the better of them on the field. The most famous face-off between the duo came back in 2010 during the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan. The duo came in each other's faces and had to be separated by the umpires. Recently, Akmal opened up about his relationship with legendary India cricketers MS Dhoni and Gambhir. Speaking about Dhoni, and mentioned how he used to talk with the former India skipper about wicketkeeping and batting. "No doubt MS Dhoni is someone with a different mentality altogether, an absolute match-winner and he's super calm. The way he played was fantastic, and had a fantastic career. We used to talk a lot about wicket-keeping, we used to talk a lot about batting and yeah, it was often good to talk to Dhoni," Akmal told Cricblog Further speaking ahead, Akmal opened up on his bond with Gambhir and said that he's good friends with the former India cricketer. "We share a good bond and are good friends. Even with Gautam Gambhir too. I mean me and Gautam are good friends too. I share a good relationship with him. He's like my brother," she added. Gautam Gambhir's aggressive demeanour vs Pakistan In one of his interviews, Gambhir famously called Akmal the chirpiest wicketkeeper behind the stumps. The former India opener was known for having a go with the opposition as he also got involved in a heated physical altercation with Shahid Afridi during an ODI game in 2007. One of the most famous knocks of Gambhir came against Pakistan during the final of the T20 World Cup 2007 where he top scored for India with his innings of 75 (54).
