Team India: Recently the test series between Team India and Bangladesh (IND VS BAN) has ended. In which Team India won the Test series 2-0 under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma. After playing the Test series against Bangladesh, Team India has to play its series against New Zealand. After New Zealand, Team India has to play its next Test series on home soil against West Indies in the month of October 2025.
According to reports, the selection committee for the 2-Test series against West Indies may give a chance to Ravindra Jadeja as the captain and 5 players who won medals for India in the Asian Games, to join the team squad.
Team India now has to face New Zealand in its home test in the 2024-25 domestic season. After the 3 test match series against New Zealand, Team India will go on Australian tour. Talking about the domestic season of 2025-26, Team India will play its first Test series against West Indies in the month of October 2025. For which the selection committee can soon start shortlisting the players.
After the end of this cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC), Team India's Test captain Rohit Sharma may decide to retire. In such a situation, according to seniority, the selection committee can give Ravindra Jadeja a chance to become the test captain of Team India. If this happens, then the command of the team can be handed over to Ravindra Jadeja in the first Test series to be held in the domestic season of 2025-26.
In the year 2023, the selection committee can give Team India a chance to play in the West Indies Test series to 5 players from the team squad that won the Asian Games under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. Those 5 players are Yashasvi Jaiswal, R. Sai Kishore, Mukesh Kumar, Rituraj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh may get a chance.
