GMR Group, which owns IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, has made a big deal in England. He has signed this agreement with Hampshire. This deal is worth 120 million pounds i.e. Rs 1350 crore, which is being done by former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen. England's stylish batsman Pietersen has played the role of a middleman in this big deal. Having played cricket for both Hampshire and Delhi Capitals, Pietersen did his job well. The veteran England cricketer has described the deal as a historic day in England cricket.

Pietersen has played for Hampshire and DC

Kevin Pietersen played cricket for Hampshire between 2005 and 2010. He has also spent 3 years in the Delhi franchise of IPL. He was a part of this IPL team when it was called Delhi Daredevils. Pietersen has also captained the Delhi franchise in 2014. In such a situation, he had good relations with GMR Group Chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi. In the beginning of September, both of them also watched the T20 match between England and Australia together. Peterson's good relations with GMR Group became the reason for the deal.

Historic day in England cricket- KP

It is believed that Kevin Pietersen has no business interest in this deal. He simply worked to merge the two parties. Once the deal was done, Kevin Pietersen congratulated both the parties and described the deal between them on the Ax handle as a historic day for English cricket.

What did Delhi Capitals get?

Now the question is, what did GMR Group, which runs Delhi Capitals, get from this deal? So he got 3 things, which included, apart from the county team of Hampshire, the Southern Brave team and the Rose Bowl cricket stadium.

After the deal was done, GMR Chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi told ESPNcricinfo that Kevin Pietersen played a big role behind it. He also knew Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove and knew me too. Since both of us were friends, Peterson was the common link between us.
