After more than two and a half days of rain in the Kanpur Test between India and Bangladesh, cricket action was finally seen on the fourth day. After all out Bangladesh early, captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal tied the score with explosive batting. Amidst all this, an opportunity also came which scared Team India and the fans. The misunderstanding between Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant regarding a run had caused a big loss to Team India but Bangladeshi players could not take advantage of it and Virat Kohli got a lease of life.

The wait of the fans ended on the fourth day of the match on Monday 30 September at the Green Park Stadium and Team India did not disappoint them. After dismissing Bangladesh's first innings for 233 runs, Rohit and Yashasvi started batting aggressively from the first over. Seeing the possibility of this match heading towards a draw, Team India adopted a fast batting style to win and it also benefited from it. Rohit and Yashasvi gave a fast start, after which Shubman Gill also opened his hands.

Virat was saved from being run out

After the dismissal of these three, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were at the crease. Both of them also decided to bat in the same style but before that a major incident was avoided. Kohli played the ball of fast bowler Khaled Ahmed with light hands and came out of the crease to take a run. Rishabh Pant also ran from the other side but seeing Ahmed going towards the ball, Pant refused and Kohli was shocked. Ahmed caught the ball and Kohli stopped there considering himself run out.

Now it seemed that Kohli would be run out because he was far out of the crease but Ahmed missed this easy opportunity. Picking up the ball, he made an underarm throw but could not hit the stump. Kohli also immediately returned to the crease and heaved a sigh of relief. But he immediately turned around and expressed his displeasure with Pant through eyes and hand gestures. Pant also accepted his mistake and immediately hugged Kohli and both of them started laughing. Kohli had scored only 2 runs at that time.

Got life again

Although Pant himself returned after getting out, Kohli stood firm and got a lease of life again. This time, he took a ball from Taijul Ismal and hit a brilliant six over long off, but while trying to play the same shot again on the very next ball, he completely missed it. Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Liton Das missed the chance to stump him. At that time Kohli had scored only 34 runs. However, Kohli could not last long after this and missed the half-century. He was out after scoring 47 runs.
