South Africa: T20 World Cup 2024 was played in June hosted by America and West Indies. In which South Africa team had to face defeat against India by 7 runs in the final match. Whereas South Africa is now playing a series of 3 ODI and 2 T20 matches with the Ireland team hosted by UAE.

The South African team has suffered a crushing defeat in the second match of the T20 series being played between Ireland and South Africa. Due to which now it is being considered as a big upset in world cricket. Because, the Ireland team has created a new history by defeating a strong team like South Africa.

South Africa lost by 10 runs

The second match of the T20 series between Ireland and South Africa was played on the grounds of Abu Dhabi. Batting first, Ireland scored 195 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response to which the South African team could score only 185 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 10 runs.

However, South Africa had won the first T20 match by 8 wickets. Due to which the 2-match series ended in a 1-1 draw. Ireland is currently at number 11 in the T20 rankings. But Ireland has surprised everyone by defeating South Africa.

Ross Adair scored a stormy century

Let us tell you that in the second T20 match, Ireland team's opening batsman Ross Adair batted brilliantly and scored a stormy century. Due to which Ireland was successful in setting the target of 196 runs for South Africa.

Ross Adair scored 100 runs in just 58 balls. He hit 5 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. Apart from this, Ireland team captain Paarl Sterling also played an inning of 52 runs in 31 balls. Whereas, Riza Hendricks batted the best for South Africa and scored 51 runs in 32 balls.

ODI series will be played from October 2

The 2 T20 match series between Ireland and South Africa ended in a 1-1 draw. Whereas now a series of 3 ODI matches is to be played from October 2. The squads of both the teams have been announced for the ODI series. All three matches of the ODI series will be played on the grounds of Abu Dhabi.
