Delhi: Star batsman Harry Brook created history by performing brilliantly in the fifth and final match of the five-match ODI series played between England and Australia in Bristol on Sunday. He has broken the five-year-old record of former Indian captain Virat Kohli.

The England team was trailing 2-0, but 25-year-old Brook's performance and leadership proved important in the victories in the third and fourth ODIs. In the third ODI, Brook scored his first ODI century by scoring unbeaten 110* off 94 balls, which helped England win (DLS) by 46 runs. In the fourth ODI, the acting captain of England played a stormy innings of 87 runs in 58 balls, which gave England a big win by 186 runs.

Brook's excellent performance continued in the final match also. Batting first, he scored 72 runs in 52 balls, which included three fours and seven sixes. He made an excellent partnership of 132 runs for the fourth wicket with Ben Duckett. Duckett also performed brilliantly and completed his second ODI century by scoring 107 runs in 91 balls.
