Varun Chakravarthy has returned to the Indian Cricket fold after he was named for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh . Chakravarthy has been predominantly in action for the Kolkata Knight Riders and hasn't been a part of Team India since 2021. But the off-spin bowler is all set to make a comeback during India's limited-overs home matches against the visiting Bangla Tigers.
Former India Wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has offered his take on Chakravarthy receiving the reward after a long time.   Parthiv Patel Offers Colossal Remark Upon Varun Chakravarthy's Selection for IND vs BAN T20I Series During an appearance on the JioCinema broadcast for the India vs Bangladesh Test match in Kanpur, Parthiv Patel spoke about Varun Chakravarthy's inclusion in the T20I series at home against Bangladesh. According to the former wicketkeeper, the off-spinner's ability to return to the Indian Cricket Team is a result of his solid bowling on challenging pitches in Kolkata during the IPL seasons. "Here, I think he has been rewarded for what he has done in the last couple of years on a difficult Kolkata wicket. It's not been as spin-friendly or as dusty as it has been in the past. But, yeah, good to see guys who are performing well are getting rewarded. They are not looking at age for this format. Sometimes, in the T20 format, you might need young players, but Varun has been around for a while and making a comeback is not easy. You have to consistently perform well. That's why Varun Chakravarthy has been picked again," Parthiv Patel said.   Off-spinner Chakravarty returns to the India fold after representing them at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE.
