MI Released And Retained Players 2025: The Mumbai Indians made their debut in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League and went on to win a total of five trophies to date.

The Mumbai-based franchise has won the IPL titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 seasons. Apart from the five IPL titles, Mumbai Indians also won the Champions League Twenty20 a couple of times. Mumbai Indians won the Champions League in 2011 and 2013.

MI Released And Retained Players 2025 (Probable)

According to the new IPL 2025 retention rules released by BCCI, each team can retain six players from their existing squad, either via retention or by using the Right to Match (RTM) option. As per the report, the teams must announce their final retention list by 5 PM IST on October 31.

Though the Mumbai Indians had a forgettable outing last season under new captain Hardik Pandya, the franchise is expected to back their core players by making use of the new BCCI rules.

As BCCI allows teams to retain a maximum of six players, Mumbai Indians will retain majority of their core players ahead of the auction.

According to the IPL committee rules, each franchise can have 25 players in their squad, out of which a maximum of 8 can be foreign players. In Playing 11, each team can have a maximum of 4 overseas players in the mix.

The 2025 mega auction is expected to be held in the 3rd or 4th week of November 2024 in UAE or London. The 2025 mega auction will be a more than-a-day event, unlike the mini auctions which will be hosted in a day.
