Indian cricketer Musheer Khan and his father Naushad Khan were injured in a car accident. They were travelling to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup from Azamgarh on Saturday, September 28. Their car hit a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway, with Musheer suffering a neck fracture. His father got scratches. After the accident, they were taken to the Medanta Hospital.

“I want to thank God for giving me a new life. I am feeling better. I thank you for your prayers” Musheer told Sports Tak.

Musheer, his father and two others were travelling in a SUV, which collided with a median and overturned, according to eyewitnesses and the Lucknow traffic police.

Musheer has returned to Mumbai for further treatment and checkups. Naushad, the father of Musheer and Sarfaraz Khan, thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for their help.

Musheer was supposed to play for the Ranji Trophy champions, Mumbai, in the Irani Cup against the Rest of India at the Ekana Stadium. However, he has been ruled out of the contest. Musheer will also a couple of matches in the 2024-25 season of the Ranji Trophy

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) hasn’t announced a replacement for Musheer for the Irani Cup.
