The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2024 officially began on Friday, September 27, in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. It opened with a star-studded press conference, followed by the first event IIFA Utsavam 2024, hosted by Rana Daggubati and HanuMan star Teja Sajja.
At the event, Gulshan Grover revealed his son Sanjay's plans to join Bollywood. The first day of the event will celebrate the four regional film industries of India - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. This celebration is called IIFA Utsavam. This will be followed by the main IIFA event on September 28, Saturday. Best of the Hindi film industry from 2023 will be honoured at the event. This will be followed by the final night, September 29, IIFA Rocks which will be a musical night celebrating the music industry. For the 24th edition, the three-day event will be held at the 18,000-seater Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
