Rahul's performance for the Indian team has not been good for some time but despite this he is being given a chance.

Rahul was also included in the playing eleven during the ongoing second Test match against Bangladesh, whereas he had performed disappointingly in the first match. KL had earlier also flopped on the Sri Lanka tour but still he is selected in the team.

The right-handed batsman had scored 16 runs in 52 balls in the first innings of this match and he was out at a time when Team India had lost 5 wickets for 144 runs. Due to such innings, Team India was in trouble at one time but after this he was given a chance in the Kanpur Test match also.
