The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to confirm the dates of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for proper and uninterrupted logistic planning of the tournament.
The PCB has already proposed a schedule for the Champions Trophy and its dates are for February-March next year. According to the proposed dates, the tournament will be held from February 19 - March 9.  PCB asks ICC to confirm ICC Champions Trophy 2025 dates Recently, the PCB has pushed the ICC of the finalization of the schedule for the tournament to ensure there is no logistical nightmare later. It is believed that the ICC will announce a final decision regarding the Champions Trophy schedule by the October end. According to Cricket Pakistan, the provisional bookings have been made according to the proposed schedule and the PCB will confirm these bookings once the official schedule is finalized. According to the proposed schedule, eight teams are divided into two groups - Group A and Group B. Group A comprises India, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and hosts Pakistan. On the other hand, England, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa are in Group B. According to the reports, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and ICC's newly elected chairman Jay Shah will meet during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 final in Dubai next month. Both of them are likely to discuss details regarding India's participation in the Champions Trophy. India's travel to Pakistan has not been confirmed for the Champions Trophy 2025 Recently, an ICC delegation visited Pakistan to inspect the stadiums for the tournament. The delegation was satisfied with all the preparations. While the ICC and all the other teams have confirmed their participation, India remains the only country not to confirm yet. The travel of the Indian team will depend upon the Indian government's approval. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaiting a final decision from the government to allow the team to travel to Pakistan. India hasn't travelled to Pakistan for years because of the strained political relations between the two countries. The last time India travelled to Pakistan was in 2008 for the Asia Cup where they finished runners-up. However, the Mumbai terror attacks changed the political scenario as it had links with Pakistan. While India has not travelled, Pakistan has travelled to India several times for various ICC tournaments. Both countries have not played any bilateral series with each other since 2013. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place in three cities - Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. According to the draft schedule, Lahore will host 7 matches, Karachi will host 3 games, and Rawalpindi will be the host to five matches. The two semi-finals will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi each, and Lahore will host the final. India will play all its matches in Lahore, including the semi-final (if they qualify).
