ENG vs AUS: Cameron Green in doubt for India Test series after back injury

Cameron Green has been ruled out of the remainder of Australia's ongoing ODI series against the England due to a back injury. The all-rounder complained off soreness after the third match on Tuesday, September 24, where he picked up two wickets and scored 45 runs.
Scans in London conducted overnight confirmed his injury. Green will now return to Australia where his injury will be assessed and a call on when he can return to competitive cricket will be taken. Green is also in doubt for Australia's Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, which gets underway in November. Green has joined the list of Australian cricketers to have been suffering from injuries, along with Riley Meredith, Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett and Ben Dwarshuis. Green did not play the second game at the Headingley in Leeds and was rested keeping in mind his workload. Australia won the ODI by seven wickets to start their campaign on a stupendous note at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Travis Head put his best foot forward, scored a brilliant 154 off 129 balls, helping Australia chase down a huge target of 316 with six overs left in their innings. Thereafter, they won the second game in Leeds by 68 runs to take a crucial 2-0 lead in the series. Alex Carey's match-winning 74 guided them past the finish line. England, however, bounced back to win the third game by 46 runs (DLS) in Durham. to help his team stay alive in the series. Rain interrupted play in the final stage of the home side's run-chase after which England won.
