The Pakistan Cricket Board recently called a high-level meeting called 'Connection Camp'. White ball head coach Gary Kirsten, Test team head coach Jason Gillespie and about 9 players of the Pakistan cricket team were also present in this meeting led by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. After the meeting, Pakistani media reports claimed that Babar Azam will not be stripped of the captaincy. White ball team captain Babar will be given a chance till the Champions Trophy. Now Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shahzad has called all these reports wrong. He has claimed, citing his sources in the PCB, that Babar has been asked to leave the captaincy on his own. If he does not do so, the board will take away the captaincy from him.

Gary Kirsten against Babar

Babar's captaincy has been a topic of discussion for a long time. After the defeat in the T20 World Cup, there was talk of removing him. But in the last few days, the wind has changed again and there were talks of giving him a chance till the Champions Trophy to be held in 2025. However, according to Ahmed Shahzad's sources, Gary Kirsten is not in favor of giving Babar Azam more chances. He wants to make many big changes before the tournament starts. For this, he has also placed his demand in front of PCB.

Big issue breaking out in the team

According to Pakistani media reports, the biggest issue in the day-long connection camp was the rift among the players in the team. Gary Kirsten raised this issue prominently in front of the board. He first asked the board to increase unity among the players. After the meeting, Test team head coach Jason Gillespie assured Babar about his poor form and said that soon a big score will come from his bat.

Pakistan's white-ball captain Babar Azam and Pakistan's red-ball captain Shan Masood were present at the connection camp. Apart from them, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Sam Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi were also seen. Team's assistant coach Azhar Mahmood and high performance expert David Reid also attended.
