Rahul Dravid's son Samit has also made cricket his profession following in his father's footsteps. 18-year-old Samit made his mark by playing in junior tournaments like the Cooch Behar Trophy. He impressed everyone with his brilliant performance in this tournament. After this, he also got a place in Karnataka's domestic T20 league Maharaja Trophy. Then he was also selected for the Youth ODI and Four Day Series against Australia's Under-19 team. Everyone was hoping that during this time he would make his debut for India's Under-19 team and leave his mark in the series. The 3-match ODI series has been completed and he did not get to play in any of them. The reason behind this is his injury.

Doing rehab at NCA

The 3-match ODI series against Australia's Under-19 team has been completed, but Samit did not appear in India's playing XI in any match. According to media reports, Samit is injured, due to which he could not play a single match. Not much information has been obtained about his injury yet. Therefore, it is difficult to say what injury he has suffered.

However, it is known that Samit is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy. Samit is also a part of the Four Day Series, which will start from September 30. If he recovers from his injury in time, he will have a chance to debut for India's Under-19 team in Chennai.

Questions were raised on the selection

When Rahul Dravid's son was selected for this series, many questions were raised because he could not perform well with the bat in the Maharaja Trophy. This was Samit's first big tournament in senior cricket. He played 7 out of 10 matches in the league stage but could not score any half-century during this period. He could score only 82 runs in these 7 matches. In this too, his best score was only 33 runs.

However, before this, in January this year, Samit had helped Karnataka become champions in the Under-19 domestic tournament in Cooch Behar. Samit had then scored 362 runs in 8 matches of the tournament and also took 16 wickets with his medium pace bowling. He left his mark by taking 2-2 wickets in the semi-final and the final.
