Live Hindi News :- The Indian men's team of Gukesh, Arjun Erikasi, Praggnanandhaa, Vidit Gujrathi and Harikrishna Pendala and the Indian women's team of Harika Durenavalli, Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vandika Agrawal and Tania Sachdev won the gold medal for the first time in the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary and created a historic record by winning medals. With this, India has emerged as a strong center of chess.

The Indian men's team has won 10 out of 11 rounds. India's only match against defending champions Uzbekistan ended in a draw. As a result, they scored 21 out of 22 points and won the gold medal, setting a historic record. The performance of Gukesh and Arjun Erikasi was crucial in the victory of the Indian men's team.

Playing on the top board, Gukesh played 10 rounds and won 8 with 2 draws. This took his tally to 9 points. Gukesh says, “I am very happy now. The Chess Olympiad series was a great experience for me personally and the team. Our dream came true. Even though we lost in the last round, I felt we would win the tie-break. But first we wanted to win. This gave us all a lot of comfort.

I am happy that Arjun Erikasi and I managed to win. I thought I should do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. I don't think much about individual performance. I wanted the team to win this time.”

Arjun Erikasi played all 11 games and added 10 points to the team. Due to his high performance, Arjun Erikasi has come to third place in the world ranking list with 2.797 points. He needs 3 more points to reach 2800 points. In this category, Magnus Carlsen of Norway is in first place with 2830 points and Hikaru Nakamura of America is in second place with 2802 points.

Arjun Erikasi says, “It is a great feeling to get third place. But there are about 10 to 15 players of equal strength, so I don’t want to worry too much about finishing third or fourth.”

Despite Arjun Erikasi being the highest rated in the Indian team, he played only on the third board in the Chess Olympiad. “We felt Gukesh would do well on the first board. That is why I played the third board. These plans worked out well. I have no regrets. This is a plan we have already established,” he said.

Gukesh and Erikasi won gold medals for their best performances on the first and third boards respectively. Vidit Gujrathi missed out on a medal in this category. He scored an average of 7.5 points in his 10 matches. Thus, playing on the fourth board, he managed to take the fourth place. Praggnanandhaa's performance also did not live up to expectations. However, he provided the much-needed stability to the team with his excellent performance in Round 9.
