The second and last match of the 2-match Test series between Team India and Bangladesh will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27. Before this match, Bangladesh's legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced his retirement from two formats. He has quit T20 International cricket with immediate effect. At the same time, he has also made it clear when he will retire from the Test format.

Shakib Al Hasan announced his retirement

Shakib Al Hasan held a press conference before the Kanpur Test match. During this, Shakib announced that he has expressed his desire to retire from Test cricket to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at the end of the home series against South Africa in Mirpur next month. But if Shakib Al Hasan does not get security clearance to play in that series, then the Kanpur Test match will be the last match of his Test career.

Shakib Al Hasan said, 'I have expressed my desire to play my last Test in Mirpur to the BCB. I have told this to the BCB, they agree with me. They are trying to arrange everything so that I can go to Bangladesh. If this does not happen, the match against India in Kanpur will be my last match in Test cricket.' Along with this, Shakib also announced his retirement from T20I and said that he has played his last match in the shortest format of the game in the T20 World Cup 2024.
