In the Chennai Test, Team India played Bangladesh on a red soil pitch. This pitch was of little help to the fast bowlers in the first 3 days. On the fourth day, the spinners completely dominated. Now the next test is to be held in Kanpur. Only one day is left for this. In this match to be held at Green Park Stadium, Bangladesh players will be fielded on a black soil pitch. Pitch curator Shiv Kumar himself has revealed this. But do you know where the soil came from, how was this pitch prepared and what kind of game can be seen on it. The pitch curator has answered all your questions. Let us know what he told.

Where did the soil come from, how did IIT Kanpur help?

Soil for the pitch to be used for the second test match between India and Bangladesh has been brought from Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. According to a PTI report, the soil has been brought from a pond in a small village 'Kali Mitti', about 23 km from Kanpur.

According to pitch curator Shiv Kumar, this is a special kind of soil which is found only near the pond of this village. After this, IIT Kanpur conducted a lab test of this soil. After passing the lab test, it was used to make the pitch. An official of the UP Cricket Association revealed that this soil has been used for the pitch of Green Park Stadium for many years.

How will the pitch behave?

The behaviour of any pitch depends on the soil used to make it. The quality of the soil decides whether it will help spin or fast bowlers. Talking about the black soil pitch of Kanpur, it is usually a bit heavy. It has more moisture inside it, which gives grip to the ball and keeps it low. Due to this, it is more helpful for spin bowlers, while the red soil pitch helps fast bowlers more, as was seen in Chennai. However, after the pitch breaks on the fourth day, spin starts on it too.

According to pitch curator Shiv Kumar, the same match as in Chennai will be seen in Kanpur's Green Park. There will be something for everyone. The bounce on the pitch will be good in the first two sessions. Batting will be a little easier in the first two days. After this, spinners will start getting help. According to him, the game should go on for 5 days on this pitch.

'Green Match' at Green Park

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has taken a big decision keeping the environment in mind. To keep the environment clean and to hold a 'green match' in Green Park, the use of plastic has been banned. UPCS has banned plastic plates for serving food of any kind inside the stadium. Only paper plates will be used in the second test match.
