Delhi: The second and final match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is to be played at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium from September 27, but before that the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (UPPWD) has issued a warning regarding a stand of the stadium. According to the Public Works Department, the condition of the balcony C stand of the stadium is so weak that it will not be able to bear the full capacity of spectators during the match.

PWD officials have declared this stand dangerous for the spectators, after which the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has decided to sell only 1700 tickets of Balcony C, while the total capacity of this stand is 4800. UPCA CEO Ankit Chatterjee told the Indian Express that after the warning from PWD, the repair work of the stand will be started soon.

PWD engineers did the inspection

PWD engineers inspected the stand on September 24 and found that it is not capable of bearing the weight of more than 50 spectators, especially when they react to the big shots of the players. The engineers have advised the UPCA to keep this stand completely closed during the match to avoid any accident.

The Indian and Bangladesh teams have already reached Kanpur, and now the challenge before UPCA and BCCI is to ensure that the match is conducted safely and without any hindrance.
