New Delhi: The 35-year-old West Indian batter smashed eight sixes in the Caribbean Premier League’s (CPL 2024) match between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Kings on September 24. Johnson Charles who is known for his explosive hitting smacked sixes all around the ground and also stitched a record partnership with Faf du Plessis for St. Lucia Kings.

Johnson Charles scored 89 runs while du Plessis also notched up 59 runs off 43 balls with the help of three maximums and four boundaries. Tim Seifert also played a crucial cameo and scored 30 runs off 17 balls, hitting three boundaries and one maximum in death overs. Chasing the target of 219 runs, Knight Riders got off to a poor start and lost the wicket of Keacy Carty on 12 runs. Roston Chase dismissed Nicholas Pooran cheaply to put more pressure on Pollard and Co. Jason Roy batted brilliantly and scored 41 runs off 29 balls but other batters failed to contribute in the run chase and lost the match by a big margin. Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs.
