As per the ICC release, ten umpires and three match referees will officiate the matches of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 hosted by Bangladesh in the United Arab Emirates from 3 to 20 October. The experienced group of umpires comprises seasoned officials including Claire Polosak, who will be umpiring in her fifth Women's T20 World Cup, while Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams will each be umpiring in their fourth. Cotton and Williams return for another edition of the show-piece tournament, after having taken charge of last year's final in Cape Town between hosts South Africa and eventual champions, Australia. Sue Redfern, who was the TV umpire for that 2023 final, is also back for her fourth appearance in the tournament. At the other end of the spectrum, Sarah Dambanevana of Zimbabwe, will make her debut appearance. India's Vrinda Rathi also will officiate matches during the tournament. The match referees' team features GS Lakshmi, who refereed her first T20I back in 2012 and oversaw the final in 2023. She is joined by Shandre Fritz and Michell Pereira, who are each officiating in their second ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Ten teams will play 23 matches over 18 days in Dubai and Sharjah for the right to call themselves 2024 champions. The ten teams will initially be divided into two groups of five teams with each team playing the other team from their respective group in single round-robin format. Once all the group stage matches are completed, the top two from both the groups head into the knockout round, to play the semifinals on October 17 and 18 followed by the winners facing off in the title clash on October 20.
