Bangladesh cricket team's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is currently in India, where he is a part of the Test series. This Test series will end at the end of this month and the Bangladeshi team will return to their country. But the biggest question remains - will Shakib also return to the country? Will Shakib be arrested on his return to Bangladesh? This question is being raised because Bangladesh has to play a Test series at home next month, in which the situation is not clear on Shakib's participation. At such a time, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has appealed to Shakib to return to the country and assured him that he will not be harassed in any way on his return to Bangladesh.

The country has been in turmoil since the fall of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government last month. Shakib Al Hasan became an MP from Hasina's Awami League party earlier this year and was also a part of the government. A few days later, a murder case was filed against 147 people in the case of the death of an agitating student and Shakib was also made an accused in it. This shocked everyone. Shakib was not present in Bangladesh at that time but has not returned to his country since this entire incident.

Will not be harassed: BCB

Ever since the FIR was filed against Shakib, there has been speculation whether he will be arrested on his return to Bangladesh? Due to this fear, there is still doubt on Shakib's return to Bangladesh and to remove this doubt and fear, Bangladesh Cricket Board official Shahriar Nafees has issued an appeal. On Tuesday, Nafees expressed confidence in Dhaka that Shakib will return to the country and he will not face any kind of trouble. Nafees, the head of cricket operations in the Bangladeshi board, said that the chief advisor, legal advisor and sports advisor of the country's caretaker government have made the situation very clear in Shakib's case that he or anyone else will not be harassed unnecessarily.

'Hopefully he won't be arrested'

Nafees said that if Shakib is not facing any fitness related issues, then there is no reason for Shakib not to play in the home Test series against South Africa. According to ESPN Cricinfo report, Bangladesh's legal advisor Asif Najrul had hoped that Shakib would not be arrested on his return to the country. He had said that only one FIR has been registered against the star all-rounder and the police have also been asked to exercise maximum patience. Shakib was not in the country even when Hasina's government fell in Bangladesh last month, but he has not returned since then.
