Delhi: India registered a spectacular victory by defeating Bangladesh by 280 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant made a strong comeback in Test cricket by performing brilliantly. Playing Test cricket after 20 months, Pant handled the faltering Indian innings at 34/3 in the first innings and scored 39 runs in 52 balls in partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, while in the second innings he scored 109 runs in 128 balls.

After the victory, Pant revealed the special message of captain Rohit Sharma during the lunch break on the third day. Pant told that during lunch time there was a discussion about declaring the innings, then Rohit said, “We will play for one more hour, brother, make as many runs as you want.”

Both Pant and Shubman Gill were close to their respective centuries, so they decided to score runs quickly so that they could complete the century before the captain declared the innings. Pant jokingly said, “It came to my mind that I should score runs quickly, who knows we may reach 150.”

Rohit Sharma registered a big achievement

Rohit has now become the fourth player in the world to win the most matches in international cricket, in which he has left Sachin Tendulkar behind. Ricky Ponting is the player who has won the most 377 international matches, while Mahela Jayawardene is in second place with 336 matches.

Virat Kohli has won 322 matches so far, and Rohit Sharma has reached the fourth position by winning 308 matches. Sachin Tendulkar had won 307 international matches in his career.
