Could not bowl properly in the first match

Shakib was not able to bowl at his full potential in the first match. He felt uncomfortable most of the time due to a finger injury. He bowled only 8 overs in the first innings and 13 overs in the second innings. His performance with both bat and ball was disappointing in Bangladesh's 280-run defeat in the first Test, as he remained wicketless in Chennai and could score only 32 and 25 runs in two innings.

Shakib got injured due to excessive bowling
