Steve Smith is getting ready to take on India National Cricket Team in the upcoming five-Test series in Australia. He recently heaped massive praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the best bowler across formats. Surprisingly, he didn’t pick Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc.

The 30-year-old pacer completed 400 international wickets during the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.

Bumrah has been magnificent in white-ball cricket and five-day format. In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the speedster was named the Player of the Tournament for taking 15 wickets.

“He is a wonderful bowler whether I face him with the new or the old ball. It is always a challenge to bat against him. Bumrah is the best bowler across the three formats,” Steve Smith said on Star Sports.

In the 2018-19 tour of Australia, Bumrah took 21 wickets in four Tests, while his tally stood at 17 scalps in three matches during the 2020-21 tour of Australia.

Bumrah has no weakness, says Sanjay Manjrekar

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar lauded Bumrah for taking four wickets in the first innings of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.

“Bumrah has no weakness, and Indian cricket is lucky to have him as a bowler,” Sanjay Manjrekar said on ESPNcricinfo.

Meanwhile, the first Test between India and Australia will start on November 22 in Perth.
