Gill amassed an unbeaten 119 runs off 176 balls with the help of 4 maximums and 10 boundaries while Pant also notched up 109 runs off 128 balls, his explosive knock was laced with 13 boundaries and four maximums. In reply, Bangladesh scored 158 runs for the loss of four wickets. Openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan stitched a 62-run partnership for the first wicket but Yashasvi Jaiswal took a sensational catch to dismiss Zakir. Ravichandran Ashwin also bowled a great spell and picked up the wickets of Shadman, Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim.
