New Delhi: Poor light resulted in early stumps on Day 3 of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
There were still 45 minutes left in the regulation time but the on-field umpires decided to stop the play in the last session on Saturday. Mohammed Siraj made a strange proposal to Rohit Sharma and asked him if he could bowl spin which left the Indian captain and fellow teammates in splits. The incident happened in the 38th over of the match when umpires asked Siraj to stop bowling and checked the light with the meter. Both umpires weren't convinced about continuing the match due to the bad light and Rohit suggested that he could use spinners. Meanwhile Siraj after listening to the Indian captain's chat with the umpires started practicing spin bowling. Siraj was confident and started twirling the ball but Rohit denied his idea saying 'He can't bowl spin,' leaving the umpires and players laughing.
